Different breeds of dogs have even more diversified characteristics, features, behaviors and physical appearance. Some are loyal companions, others are sweet and cuddly, while others are strong guardians and admirers of the owner. The third category includes the famous dog, whose origin is often debated even today. Specifically, it is classified in group 9 according to the FCI classification: leisure and escort dog.

It is a dog that has existed since the 19th century, created as a result of a cross between a terrier from France and a mini bulldog from England - the famous and powerful FRENCH BULLDOG.

It originates from England, although in the name we can see the dominance of the famous France. During the departure of workers from England to this country, in order to look for a better occupation and living conditions, they took bulldogs with them. The original name of the breed is Bulldog Francia and is one of a group of small dogs.

The French Bulldog is a very widespread breed all over the world, and it is also represented in our country. As he is phenomenal for everyday walks, he is both sociable and very obedient. That is why many dog fans buy them, which can be noticed by the dominance of this breed in numerous parks. Although they are considered strong, they are not rude, on the contrary, they are very sensitive and recognize the emotions of the owner and other family members. It has a characteristic aspect, in particular the ears and the muzzle that conquers everyone and all, without limits. Everyone is safe and secure with them, but they also expect to know that they are in a reliable and moody society. There are many different characteristics that characterize the French Bulldog, and in the following text we will present detailed properties.

The origin of the French Bulldog is the result of great affection and perseverance

It has already been mentioned in the introductory part of the text that the original origin of the French Bulldog was England, but the persistence of the French still paid off. It is believed that this race originates from the time of the Roman Empire, as well as that it is related to medieval races. The original races were transferred from the English city of Nottingham, known for Robin Hood and legend, by the emigration of textile workers in France. Then there is the real, today's French bulldog, created by crossing a terrier from France and a bulldog from England, back in 1860. Perseverance in crossbreeding has resulted in the elegant look and boldness of today’s French Bulldog. Twenty years later, the French Bulldog is becoming widespread in the Paris area, especially as a cargo carrier within the markets. There are certain theories that even in the 18th century a bulldog was created in the form of a toy, which was imported from Spain to France, which has not been confirmed, because it has nothing to do with the English bulldog and the origin of today's breed.

France is certainly very responsible for the emergence and spread of this breed of dog. As early as 1880, an alliance with this race was founded in Paris, and a few years later the first book in which they enrolled. Standards were formed and changed several times, and the French Bulldog exhibited in 1887. The popularity grew rapidly, and spread to the United States, when at the famous exhibition in 1896, this breed appeared for the first time in a distant country, which got part of its name from the nickname that it is French - the French Bulldog. England certainly opposed the name and recognized the origin of this breed, but in 1902 they founded a racing club, and in 1912 they officially recognized it as a French bulldog within the chronological club in this country.

Like the Maltese, the French Bulldog is walking among the rich - nobles and other members of high society. At the very beginning of the 20th century, at every cocktail party, reception or party, one French bulldog walked by, or more precisely, the male was usually a companion to famous ladies at these events. At that time, the price reached a staggering 3,000 dollars, because it was a renowned dog, which was present infamous and popular families. Not only was he in the Rockefeller home, but J.P. Morgana and many other famous places. Arriving in the United States, he eventually won 5th place on the ranking list of the most beloved and popular dogs.

Although the nose is pronounced, the nostrils are open and wrinkles are present, proper breathing is enabled. Big and sweet eyes, as well as a slight smile at the end of the lips, make them very sweet and kind. The jaw is square and pronounced, with a bent lower part and teeth that are quite stretched and rarely visible. The lips are full and relaxed, quite due to the wrinkled, sad snout. It is important that they are adequately trained from birth. The advice to interested buyers is to buy them while they are still very young, or when they are already fully trained. The French Bulldog requires clear and unambiguous rules, it is there to follow and fulfill them, but only if it is trained for that, more precisely, it trains on time. It is important to pay attention to proper upbringing and behavior, so that the French bulldog would not be unruly and disobedient. This makes his life in the house, especially difficult - things, furniture can be endangered, but also the degree of aggression, if it exceeds the measure, everyone is endangered. That is why it is very desirable for them to be trained even in cages, with the conditioning of behavior with a reward in the form of food, but also with punishment if deviations occur. Persistence and perseverance in training are important, even counseling and hiring an expert, who will recognize the problem behavior and find an adequate method for adopting norms and rules of behavior..

People adore them because they are natural, borderline and calm, even if the look sometimes suggests tension and impatience. They are faithful friends and companions of the owner in the footsteps, without any last intentions and their own independent interests. Although it can sometimes seem difficult to establish rules for living at home, the French Bulldog is like a small child - very affectionate and should be persistent, but also give a smile.

The character of the French Bulldog is characterized by stubbornness and intelligence

In terms of character traits, the French Bulldog is, in addition to all of the above, also considerably stubborn. It is known that it is not a disadvantage, but sometimes an advantage, but it can be an aggravating circumstance when establishing rules. They are also cheerful and in good spirits, with a slightly higher level of intelligence, although it is considered to be at an average level. This is proven by many characteristics, but also by the fact that the female of this dog reacted to 20 commands completely correctly, in the thirties of the twentieth century. The temperament of the French bulldog is characterized by loyalty and loyalty, energy, endurance, playfulness, courage and intelligence.

The French bulldog learns quickly and actively, but he also likes to have a good rest, sometimes "lazy people". However, he perfectly understands and adopts the commands "lie down", "sit", "stand up" and the likes. They just don't get past shouting, noise and any learning under stress and pressure. They themselves rarely bark, so they expect others not to retaliate by shouting. They know how to win, charm and pick up all the sympathies with one look, movement and a gentle smile. They are great entertainers and such are often the number one choice of many families, but also people who live alone, because they bring serenity, freshness and joy to every home.

The care, health and protection of the French Bulldog require meticulousness

A dog that absolutely knows what it wants, understands the owner and learns quickly is a French Bulldog. Precisely in connection with that is the fact that he himself knows what suits him and affects him in terms of care and protection. Smooth skin and thin, short and shiny hair require regular care. Although it does not belong to the breed that is characterized by long hair and frequent combing, it is necessary to adequately nurture and pay attention to the appearance and health of this dog. They like brushing, even several times during the day. It is advised twice a week, as a real measure for brushing. It nourishes their hair, giving them a feeling of relaxation, enjoyment and caressing. In addition, it is desirable to look at the skin, whether there are any irregularities such as growths and redness. Examination of the oral cavity, teeth, ears, nose and eyes should also be part of the daily routine of care. The signal that it is time for the vet can sometimes be just an unpleasant smell or breath, or a specific appearance on the dog's body.

Occasional bathing is desirable, for hygiene reasons, but also due to the fact that it is not prone to hair loss, more precisely shedding to a large extent. This is also a significant advantage of choosing a French Bulldog as a pet. Please note that this applies to dogs older than 6 months, until then no bathing is suggested. As the French Bulldog is prone to allergies and rashes, you should not use untested shampoos and strong preparations, but the recommended line, or even just clean water. The ears are cleaned with a damp swab or cotton wool, on the outside of the shell. Tearing of the eyes is taken care of, as well as frequent "drooling", so in that regard, the face should be taken care of to always be dry and clean. Their nails can grow significantly, bending downwards, which requires regular shortening. Don't be surprised that these cute, tidy and well-groomed dogs can snore a lot, which is almost impossible to regulate.

The French Bulldog does not tolerate high temperatures, because it makes it difficult to breathe, and they can even die due to excessive exposure to the sun. It is important that during hot summer days and hours of high radiation, the dog is at home, with the optimal temperature, because even anything over 30 degrees can be risky for their health and life in general. That is why morning and evening walks are suggested, in fresher, but not too cold temperatures. Although it seems unusual, the French Bulldog does not like winter and great cold. In terms of health problems of another nature, they are prone to some inherited diseases. It is important to ask the breeder in advance about the health condition and origin when choosing and buying this dog.

They are prone to entropy, connected nostrils, soft palates and the like. They often suffer from hip dysplasia, intervertebral disc problems, patella luxation and more.

French bulldog and diet for him

In terms of nutrition, the French Bulldog adores ready-made industrial products, which need to be checked and tested. These are dry and wet granules, of different sizes, shapes and compositions. In addition, these dogs also like completely natural meals, which are dominated by meat porridges. They enjoy veal and beef, they prefer barley, rice and buckwheat cereals, while their favorite vegetables are cabbage, pumpkin, but also peppers, cucumbers and zucchini. Variety is the rule for every meal. Along with these foods, it is possible to add some fruit, fish and dairy products to the porridge, but in moderation. They like food that is warm but not hot. They enjoy a well-chopped meal, especially if they are young dogs.

The daily life and social life of the French Bulldog is good fun

A dog that loves company, walking with moderate temperatures and a varied diet, is a French bulldog. They get along well with children and respect the owner. They are generally protected, but that is moderate. Sometimes they can be aggressive and it is important to monitor every situation when there are children in his environment. He can show nervousness and rudeness towards other dogs, regardless of breed, which means that one should be careful and avoid close encounters during walks. If you notice another pet, they may show jealousy. As already pointed out, it is important to conduct dressage at the earliest period of development, in order to enable the acceptance of the environment and the presence of other people in the house, or anywhere else. Simply put, a French Bulldog requires attention and dedication, but training will give the owner peace of mind in terms of environmental safety and safety in the dog's predictable reactions.

Experiences with the French Bulldog

The French Bulldog is considered a "sloth" and a dog that is not significantly physically active. He likes lying down and really spends a lot of time sleeping and resting, especially when it comes to puppies. He also likes when the owner is resting and napping, so he won't be disturbed. It is not required in terms of exercise and movement, but for the health of the organism, a regular walk is necessary, at least a short exit of fresh and clean air. It is only necessary to pay attention to extremely high and extremely low temperatures. Certainly, when he notices the company in the environment, he is ready to activate and run, jump and play without fatigue. It will bring a smile to everyone's face, entertain the environment and make it an absolute and completely favorite in society.

It is important to mention that the French bulldog "finds" the ideal family for himself. He is not suited to overly nervous people, as well as those who are often exposed to stressful situations, noise and shouting. They are not suitable for homes with a dog house in the open, because the home conditions suit them. In addition to all of the above, they do not fit in cold regions and areas exposed to low temperatures, so it is better to avoid them in the selection if the climatic conditions are unfavorable. On the other hand, they are a phenomenal choice, even if the owner lives in an urban environment and apartments, because the French Bulldog does not require space and a lot of movement. They follow faithfully, even in situations when family members do not have enough time to socialize, which is fine for them, because they do not ask for non-stop care and walks. On the contrary, they enjoy the rest and lounging, sometimes even without company, they will not complain at all. Simply put, the French Bulldog is not picky, nor will it complain in case there is any shortage - time, space, walks or anything else.

The French Bulldog is a dog with an aristocratic origin and a tradition of presence in high society. He is considered a friendly, intelligent and charming dog, who is very fun, honest and ready to put a smile on his face. It is there to attract attention on a daily basis, leave a strong impression and differ from other races in its prominent wit. The specific physical appearance also affects the very comical experience, and the willingness to cuddle and tenderness. He is pleasant, instills trust and trusts famous people, while he approaches strangers very inviolably and is at a distance for a long time. It is a source of play, fun and affection. However, his sweet, downcast and sad snout, combined with his small and unusual body, should not deceive.

The French Bulldog has a strong character and a strong temperament, which is reflected in clear needs, desires and a dose of stubbornness. This can make training and coaching difficult, so persistence and perseverance without limits are advised. This dog loves rules, understands authority and learns very quickly, which is why training from the first day is advised, and even hiring professionals in this field. It requires regular care, which is not extensive, since it has short and shiny hair. He likes brushing, and he doesn't mind bathing, which doesn't have to be frequent. He is known as a gourmet, and loves a varied diet. In this domain, it is important to be careful, because the French bulldog can become obese, which will make it difficult to move. As he has short legs and small build, the advice is to limit meals in a timely manner. This is supported by the fact that he is not very physically active and likes to rest and sleep for several hours during the day. Therefore, it is advisable to walk regularly from an early age, in order to get used to a slightly different pace of life and have regular physical activity, which in combination with proper but not excessive meals will give a healthy body without problems and difficulties.

The French Bulldog is a dog that fits perfectly into families, loves attention and enjoyable, but very intelligently accepts a different everyday life, if he understands it in time and trains for a different routine.
